CURRENT PROGRAM 2008
The current program of DITC Environmental Education Foundation, Inc., is called Locally Endangered Species Awareness.
The first step, to research all fifty of the threatened or endangered species within a 150-mile radius of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, is complete. The next step, to put each species on our website, www.ditc-eef.org, is in full swing.

We have all 50 available for viewing on the website .
These species are in the process of being designed and will soon be put on the website in order to complete that part of the project. We will then be ready to invite the participation of 8-12 year-old students, from local schools, in a creative program set around the 50 species on the list. We will be meeting with science teachers from these local schools in due course. Finally, we will showcase a broad range of the children’s work on the website, and create an exhibition to be shown at different venues.
Listed below is the list of the endangered and threatened species in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. There is a direct link from this page to the subjects that are completed (as listed above) and they can be viewed on the website.
